A surprise for my hubby

I can't believe this weekend is already over! It seems like it just started!

Well, I came home Friday to a sick husband. I was so sad because I had planned out this whole date night. So, I made him his favorite "sick food": tomato soup and grilled cheese which he didn't eat it of course. He still wasn't feeling very good, but I forced him to go to anyway. I paid good money and I was not about to let it go to waste!

So, I made him get his butt in the car and we drove to.....the Condor's Game!!!!! It was the playoff game and I was super excited!
We were in section 114 row D! I love being close to the ice!

Jonathan did really good. He was REALLY sick, but he stuck it out for me. Have a mentioned how much I love him? I LOVE him!

Bad picture of us, but you can tell that he was sick. Poor hubby.

Quick change was there (contestants from Americas Got Talent)! I was so excited to see them in person! They were one of my favorite contestants on the show!

It was really an amazing game! The Condor's scored 7 goals! Woo-hoo!

The Condor's celebrating after a victory!

The scoreboard

Mike Hart interviewing the number 1 player of the game.

Despite him being sick, it was a pretty good night. It was so nice to have a date night! We even saw some people from church!

So there is 1 for number 32!

Grease is the word!

So I am pretty excited.

This last Saturday I went with my mom and sister to Hollywood to see Grease at the Pantages Theater! Taylor Hicks (you know, that guy who won American Idol season 5??) was there and played the Teen Angel who sings "Beauty School Dropout". People in the audience went crazy for him! It was interesting, we just clapped politely while they screamed his name and "I love you Taylor!" The play was really good though. I really enjoyed myself and I highly recommend it!

Before we went to the play, we went to breakfast/lunch at a restaurant called "The Waffle" on sunset (#90). I didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to remember to horridness of my lip, but I was full before I finished my half of my pecan waffles! But they were super yummy!

Photobucket

Afterwards we were walking to the theater and look what I found! I've been looking for her star for a LONG time!

I look like I'm hating it, but I was actually trying to smile. Stupid band-aids!

Photobucket
Inside the theater! So pretty!

I have also been doing a little more work to cross some things off of my giant to do list!

I did not technically buy a new phone for myself, but my husband did! He bought a better but broken version of the iPhone and so he gave me his old one! I'm super excited. I liked my shadow, but I'm happy for a change! Hopefully I will learn how to use it soon lol. So goodbye to #8! I'm sorry about my stupid smile in the picture, my lip is still a little swollen from the surgery and its hard to smile! At least you get a sneak peak of my lip!

Photobucket

It feels so good to cross something off that I'm going to keep going!

I went to a scrapbooking party (#74) on Monday (sorry no pictures of that), but at that party I did make a gift for somebody (#73)!

I made my little buddy Cyndel a scrapbook page of her recent trip to Disneyland with us. She looked so adorable in her little outfit and we had so much fun with them!

Photobucket

I also finished the last two books of the Twilight series which (I have mentioned before) are amazing! (#4!)

I am currently working on a surprise for my husband! I'm so excited about it! And we need a date night so badly! So it is planned for tomorrow night!
I'll update you later on how it went!

Vampires, Werewolves, and Bella Swan

Yes, I admit it.

I'm April Tyson and I am a Twilight addict.
I just can't get enough and I'm completely in love with Edward Cullen haha.

twilight Pictures, Images and Photos

With the first book, I was addicted and could see what people were talking about. I finished it within a week and lost a LOT of sleep.

Book two took me longer to finish and seemed to drag on until the end!
Book three took me over a month to read. I'm busy people!

I started book four yesterday and I am on page 308 and I had to FORCE myself to put it down. I am hooked. This fourth book is better than any of the previous books and I doubt it will take me much longer to finish it.

I won't give anything away if you haven't read it yet (what are you waiting for? Go start Twilight!) but I am completely addicted to the love story of Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan. You can tell that this book was written by a woman because Edward does, says, and is all the right things that I man should be. An illusion, a fantasy, and dream. But omg so dreamy! I'm not just talking about Robert Pattinson (okay he's cute), but I'm more in love with the character.

Plus, their story and the things they go through doesn't make the book any easier to put down. Those who have read book four will know what makes it so incredibly hard to put down, but I have things to get to today people!

So this is my promise to you, I will not pick up Breaking Dawn until at least 8pm tonight when I have actually accomplished something today!

This is going to be hard lol

Surgery sucks

So, I had my surgery yesterday to remove the skin cancer on my lip and face.
Just so you know, this post will NOT have any pictures of my face. I can barely stand to look at it, so I am not going to post it for the world to see!

We got there at 7:30 and they finally saw me around 8:00am.
The first thing that they did was numb me in my lip. Which was a lot less painful than when they numbed me for the biopsy.
I don't know exactly what they did next, I asked them to spare me the details for my own sanity. But they took a sample of the cancer and then froze it and tested it to see if there was any cancer on the edges so they could figure out the cancer's path and we could go from there.
I went into the waiting room during this process. Luckily Jonathan was there to keep my company and keep me sane.
We went through this (I believe) four times until they finally got it all out. Then they stitched me up (it took about 2 hours or so). They did this crazy thing that actually electrocuted my lip (I didn't feel it because I was numbed) but I could SMELL it and I could hear it. I'm not sure EXACTLY what it was for, but it was crazy.
My doctor was really amazing and the people in the room where joking around with each other. It was nice and took my mind off of what they were doing. I guess during one point, the nurse went into the waiting room and saw that Jonathan looked really worried so she told him I was doing fine. I love him! There was no need for him to be so worried though!
When they were all finished I was asked if I wanted to look at it. I was a little unsure because I was already having a hard time with knowing that I was going to have a noticeable scar...but I looked at it. I was mortified. I looked like the bride of Frankenstein! It went all the way from my nostril down to the bottom of my top lip.

I finally got home at 3:30 and I was in a LOT of pain with the numbing finally went away. I also found that I couldn't eat ANYTHING because I couldn't get my mouth to open wide enough.

This morning the pain was gone, but my lip was/is extremely swollen. I FINALLY looked at my lip again today and realized it didn't look so bad. There are clear stitches down to my lip, then they are black on my lip and all the way up inside my lip (Yes INSIDE my lip all the way up).

I hope the scar doesn't turn out so bad. I already have an issue with my self esteem and the way that I look. I don't need a huge, noticeable scar on my lip to make things worse.

I'm not looking forward to going out in public and having people stare at the band-aid that now graces the front of my face! Come on people! It's just a stupid band-aid, there is no need to stare!
But they did before with my little one and they will with this one too.
At least I only have to wear it until Tuesday when I get the stitches out.

A decade of love

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary on March 8th. It was the anniversary of when we first started dating on March 8, 1999.

I still can't believe it has been a whole ten years since we started dating! We have gone through so much in the last ten years and have grown together as well. I was only 14 when (he was 16) when we started dating. We have grown up together and become adults. I love how we like the same things like Disneyland and theater. I love how we just fit together so perfectly like pieces of a puzzle.

When we first got together we agreed to take it slow. We didn't even kiss until after 3 months of being together. So far this plan has completely worked for us! We waited until after I graduated from college to get married (to make sure that I would finish) and it was probably the best decision we ever made. If we would have gotten married when I was 18 (like we talked about) then we wouldn't of had everything that we have today and I might not have finished college.

It hasn't been the smoothest road; we have definitely had our bumps. However, we have gotten through it all and those bumps have made our relationship stronger. I love him more and more each day. I can't wait to take the next steps in our relationship: buying a house, starting a family, and eventually growing old together.

We originally had a plan to go on this big, amazing vacation to Disney World, however, with the economy the way it is we decided a weekend trip to Disneyland would be the best. It is how we celebrate every year after all!

We left Friday afternoon (we hit traffic...oye) and checked into our hotel. All I have to say is that you get what you pay for. The room was okay, but not amazing in any way. I managed to only pay $150 for two nights which is the same price as one night in a hotel 6 hotels down (a very short walk away). We met up with Jill and her family inside the park and rode a few rides with them. That was fun to be able to spend a little bit of time with them in the park. We actually stayed until closing (midnight) which is a very first for us. Usually we leave early to be able to get an early start in the morning.

Saturday morning we actually slept in (gasp!) and decided to go to California Adventure first. They opened the gate at 10:30, but didn't actually open up the rides until 11:00. We decided to go ahead and get in line for the new(ish) Toy Story Mania Ride. They had already set up a line for it and so we decided to go ahead and get in it. The end of it was pretty far away from the ride itself so we figured it was a HUGE line. We were wrong, we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes when they finally opened the actual line.

Aren't the glasses sexy?

Photobucket
He won...but my accuracy was much better!

We then went on California Screamin' since it was only a 10 minute wait and we KNEW it would be much longer later.

Photobucket
We are holding up "10" for 10 years

While waiting for our friends to arrive, we decided to finally have breakfast. We decided to go into the Baker's field bakery and found HUGE cinnamon rolls for about $3 each. Plus we got a small discount with our annual passes. We thought that was an extremely cheap breakfast, especially for Disneyland! Plus they were from the bakery named after where we live. How perfect is that?

Photobucket
Jonathan enjoying his breakfast. He had already eaten half of it by then.

Photobucket
Come on. It's kinda cool!

We finally met up with our friends: Joey, Brynna, and little Cyndel and Brynna's parents. Afterward we spent the whole day with them. After all, how often do you meet up with friends in Disneyland (who you didn't actually plan the trip with in the first place. This trip we happened to do that twice! =D ) We had a great meeting Disney characters, riding kiddie type rides, and eating yummy food.

Photobucket

I think he is going to make a great dad someday!

On Sunday, our actual anniversary, we took it easy and just did what we wanted. We had lunch at the Blue Bayou (the restaurant inside of Pirates of the Caribbean) which I made a week in advance. We both had the Monte Cristo which is the best sandwich in the entire world! They also gave us a free dessert! It was a little pricey but so worth it!
Photobucket
Good morning!

Photobucket
Look how cute he is with the little Anniversary button!

We went on the Toy Story Ride again! It's definitely our new favorite ride!

He thinks he is going to win

Photobucket
I know I'm going to win!

Photobucket
He won....again...

The Mission Tortilla Factory gives away free tortillas (after making you watch a 5 minute video) and they are freshly made! It's by far one of Jonathan's favorite things to do.
Photobucket

We also got "free" pickles. They have a salad bar and give containers to hold pickles. So I got some for a quick snack. With what they charge to get in and for the food, I'm sure they can afford me taking a small amount of pickles lol.
Photobucket

By then it was 4:30pm, crowded, and we were finished. So we decided to head home.
Photobucket

We needed gas so we stopped at a Chevoron station before getting on the freeway. There was a lady there clearly in need of help with changing her tire. Jonathan, being the amazing guy that he is, got out and helped her. She said that she had been there for about an hour and NOBODY had offered to give her a hand. I can't believe that some people can't even offer help. We figure that if we were in that position that we would want somebody to help us.
Photobucket

After we finally got on the freeway we ran into a bunch of traffic, so we decided to go to the Citadel Outlets and do a little shopping. I bought my very first pair of Converse shoes! They are SUPER cute and I just couldn't pass them up.

We ate dinner at one of our new favorite restaurtants, Ruby's Diner. It was beyond yummy.

Overall it was an amazing anniversary. I still can't believe that I have been with him for a whole decade! I can't wait to spend the next 10 years with him and see what those years will bring!

100 Things in 365 days

I've always been a fan of to do lists. (Not that I've ever actually completed one) It helps keeps me organized and gives me a visual reminders. There is a lot of things that I want to get done and what a better way than to make a to do list! I came across a blog that had a big to do list to complete over the course of a few years.
