Disneyanniversgraducasinoshower

I have had quite the busy week!
You know you want to hear about it.

My cousin, Stephanie, told me that she was going to be at Disneyland for Memorial Day weekend. The BUSIEST weekend like ever! haha It's okay, its not her fault. She asked if I would meet her down there and how could I resist? Getting to see my cousin who lives in another state at one my favorite places in the whole world? I'm so there!

The only problem was that I couldn't go Saturday or Monday and I worked Sunday morning. So, I decided that the best thing to do was to go Sunday after work even though it was a block out day for my passes. I HAD to see my cousin!
It was well worth the trip. We only rode a few rides, but we had lots of fun and I really enjoyed spending time with my cousin.

Monday was my Grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary party. (Their actual anniversary is June 6th, but my aunt was in town from Arkansas so we celebrated it then). Fifty years is so long and I'm so happy for them. They have been through so much with my grandpa's cancer and I hope it gets better for them VERY soon!

My cousin also graduated high school from CHS. I can't believe she is that old already! It makes me feel old haha.

Friday I went with my grandpa and two aunts to the Tachi Palace in Lemoore (no pics of that) to do some gambling. I won $26 dollars on the Wizard of Oz slots! My aunt said is was completely appropriate considering how much I love/loved the Wizard of Oz. It finally paid me back for all of my love and affection. Then I lost most of it, but I only lost about $17.00 in all.

On top of everything else I threw a baby shower for my friend Brynna. I am very thankful that I am able to do these kinds of things for my friends and I really do enjoy doing it. I love throwing parties and I do them all the time. I think all together I have thrown 3-4 birthday parties, 2 bridal showers, 1 Bachelorette party, and two baby showers. I really think and hope that they appreciate it!

Calamity April

So, my husband's newest hobby is shooting. Me, being the supportive wife, has joined in and has gone shooting.

I have NEVER shot a gun in my life and never had any intention of it whatsoever. But I know I need to learn how to defend myself if I need to. So I went along and wasn't nervous until I got there and had to hold the gun for the first time on May 17th. Can you say "Eeek"?

Photobucket

First time holding a gun. I may look happy, but I'm shaking.

I had a fun time shooting with my brother and husband in the 105 degree heat. (Ew!) I only shot 5 bullets and decided that was enough. But my husband and brother are really good at it, so I just watched them and stayed in the shade as much as possible.

Photobucket
Alex was actually very good shooting the disks. I guess all those years of video games like "Duck Hunt" finally paid off haha

I got creative =)

I went shooting again with our friends Joey and Brynna last Saturday (the 23rd). I wasn't AS nervous this time and it wasn't so hot so that was good.

I shot three guns this time. I shot the first one (in the previous picture) first. It has a little bit of a kick back so it can get a little scary.

Photobucket
The gun was Joey's and was much easier to handle for me. I enjoyed shooting it more.

Photobucket
It didn't even feel like I shot anything. But I used it again when we shot targets.

The scariest part of the trip wasn't shooting the guns though. (Oh how I wish it was). A killer bee was flying around (that we thought was a massive fly). Joey hit it away first and then it came over by me and I shooed it away. Well, it got mad and started following me around. Jonathan informed me that it was actually a bee and I freaked. I started to run away and it followed me so I just covered my head with shirt and hoped that it would fly away. Well, I actually ended up trapping it in my shirt. OMG! After I was told that it was in my shirt, I quickly pulled it down from over my head. It was in MY HAIR! I had just put my hair in messy bun before then and it hung out there.

Since Jonathan is pretty much deadly allergic to bees, I ordered him to go away. Joey took Jonathan's shirt and crushed it in my bun. Luckily he killed it and it feel to the ground. All of us avoided a sting and we left shortly after with bee guts in my hair.

Dirty Dancin'

My mom, sister, and I went to our very last play (for now) a few weekends ago. We had a really great time.

Photobucket

We took the metro to Hollywood and Highland. I LOVE the metro! I know that sounds bizarre and the idea of being feet below the ground should scare the living crap out of me. But I love it.

Photobucket
Her first metro ride...awe!

We went to a Japanese restaurant called Koji's. It was super yummy! You were able to cook your own food at the table! My mom was the only one brave enough to try it. But I get to cross it off my list of new restaurants to try! My sister and I both got sushi (different kinds) and then split them to we could each try the different kinds. It was yummy. We also had dessert which was a little....weird. It had a tough outside but was ice cream in the middle.

Andrea didn't like it haha

While we were finishing up our meal we kept seeing these clumps of bubbles go by. After dinner we went to see what it was and we found the world premiere of the new Pixar movie "Up"! Those clumps of bubbles ended up being what was left of the bubbles that originally were in the shape of the word "Up" and a shape of a balloon. It was pretty neat.

Prety neat!

After we looked at the premiere, we went to to the Chinese Theater to look at the handprints.

Then we made our way back to see Dirty Dancing! It was an amazing play! I had never seen the movie all the way through, so it was awesome. Plus, the guy playing the main character was HAWT AND Austrailan! Oh my my! haha

Photobucket

Afterwards we went to the Farmer's Market and mall. It was really neat. I went into the American Girl store. My sister and I used to have a few of their dolls, so we went and checked to see if their stuff was still there. My doll has been "retired" (so sad), but hers was still there. I got Jonathan some Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce from a store that had nothing but hot sauce and other sauces. Very interesting. And ate at a new restaurant!
Photobucket
I had the Beer Shrimp. Not what I thought. It was super spicy but pretty yummy.

It was a fun day!

Mia and the Relay

I know, I know...its been a long time. I haven't died I swear.

Life is good and VERY busy! I've been subbing quite a bit (thank gosh!). I have had subbing jobs all week. YES! I really need the $$ and I won't be working during the summer. School is over next week and I'm excited to have time off, even though I will be broke.

I booked our one year wedding anniversary trip! It was actually originally going to be Jonathan's gift. The first year is paper and I was going to get him a ticket (the paper) to Catalina Island to go snorkeling. The boy loves fish, what can I say. I knew he would love it. But he ruined it. We were driving last weekend and he said, "We should go to Catalina for our anniversary. I think it would be really fun!" I couldn't help but smile a HUGE smile because I knew he would love this gift. He got really curious about why I was smiling so big and wouldn't drop it, so I cracked. Its a good thing I did though because by the time I went to go book the room they were almost booked up! All the search engines I could find were out of all the nice rooms and I ended up having to call begging for a room. But I got one! King bed with an ocean view...sweet! Of course it came at a few pretty pennies. THEN I went to go book the ferry to get out there and THEY were all booked! I couldn't believe it! But I found one and they have already charged our credit card so we are definitely going! haha

We named our adorable little kitten. Her name is Mia (I won) and she has brought so much to our family. She is such a little cuddle bug! In fact, right now she is curled up on my chest, her favorite spot. haha She runs to the door when I come home and cries when I lock her out of a room. She attacks our feed, wakes me up at 6:30 every morning, and gets into everything. Just like a kid! haha

We also had relay for life a few weeks ago. It went really well and our team raised a LOT of money for a cure for cancer! Oh and my Grandpa is finally home from his stem cell transplant and happy to be home.
