11 years

On March 8, 1999 around 3:30pm, Jonathan asked me to be his girlfriend. I agreed and 11 years later here we are. We have been through so much together and I'm so lucky to have him all to myself! We starting "going out" with I was a Freshman and he was a Sophmore. Our relationship has had its ups and downs but I'm so happy that we are still together. He is my love, my lobster, my life.

Happy 11 years Hunny!

March 6, 2010- At Disneyland

Our tradition has been a trip to Disneyland to celebrate our yearly anniversary and this year was no exception. We decided to go just for Saturday and then go to the Saugus Swap Meet on Sunday (I've always wanted to go).

Disneyland was amazing (as usual) even though it rained. The rain didn't come until 5:30pm which gave us plenty of "magical" time. We rode rides, people watched, and just had an amazing time being together. The swap meet was great and I had an amazing time and even found some great deals (no pictures of that).

I actually got him to go into the Tiki Room!

I told him to be "scared" for the picture since we were at the Haunted Mansion and this is what he did lol

And then he did this. =)

We had Monte Cristos for lunch. The most AMAZING food ever!

One Year

Last weekend was my one year wedding anniversary!
I cannot believe that it has been one year since Jonathan and I became man and wife! Even though we have been together for over 10 years he still manages to surprise me everyday. I just love being a wife! I'm still not the best cook and I'm not the best at keeping the house tidy, but its things that I'm working on and I'm happy to work on.

Some of my favorite moments over the year:
~ Adopting our cat, Mia.
~ Our 10 year anniversary trip to Disneyland
~ Waking up next to him
~ Swimming with dolphins
~ Date nights
~ Goodnight kisses (even if they had to be over the phone)
~ The cruise
~ Celebrating each holiday as a married couple

What a wonderful year it as been!

For our anniversary we decided to go to Catalina. Jonathan loves fish and has wanted to go snorkeling again since we snorkeled in Cabo. My original plan was to get him tickets to Catalina Island as an anniversary gift (since the first year is paper). Then one day we were driving and he suggested that we go there for our anniversary. I couldn't stop laughing because I knew that he would love the gift and I eventually cracked. It's a good thing I did though because we barely got a room and tickets on the ferry when I booked it in May!

We left Bakersfield on Friday afternoon and arrived in Huntington Beach around 5pm and checked into our hotel. Then we went to Joe's Crab Shack. That place was yummy! I had this drink called shark attack that Jonathan said I just HAD TO HAVE! Basically they pour a shot of grenadine from a plastic shark and yell that that is a shark in the water. It turns the drink from blue to purple. It was yummy too.

The hotel that Jonathan set us up at was nice, except for the big group of drunk kids who woke us up from 3:00am-6:00am even after Jonathan went in there to tell them to shut up. We were really cranky that morning.

We got our ferry at 8:30 out of long beach. We got there too late to get any good seats, but we had a nice little ride over there.

We were lucky enough to be able to lock up our bags at our hotel room before check in. We went to a pizza parlor for breakfast(weird!) and I had Hawaiian french toast which was YUMMY! We shopped at almost every little shop and finally got to check into our hotel room at 1pm.

Our hotel. Our room was the third story up to the left of the tree. We had a great view and it was well worth the price!

Photobucket
I never did get a picture of our hotel room, but this is one from the website. It looks just like our room but our bed was on the opposite wall, etc.

We took a nap (since we were up almost all night and then went snorkeling! (I don't have any pics of that yet, but I'll put them up when I get the chance.) Jonathan had a difficult time. He got hit in the head with something while we were in the water and was feeding the fish peas and ending up getting bit by a big one.

I was told that I had to have something called Catalina Buffalo Milk. So, what better time than when I am there?

Photobucket
It was STRONG! It was rum, 99 bananas, and ice cream.

Look at my hunky salior man! I made him put it on lol

July 19, 2009- Our anniversary!
For a paper gift Jonathan ended up giving me a newspaper from our wedding day. He had saved it and mangaged to keep it a secret from me for over a year. I was impressed, it was very "out of the box". I made him a photobook of our 10+ year relationship and had another surprise for him. He also got me a rare pin of Cinderella and her prince that said "One Year Anniversary". It was perfect since that was our wedding theme! =) I just love him.
We decided to leave Catalina early because we ran out of things to do. We changed our ticket and upgraded to the Lounge (fancy!) and ended up sitting across from a really cool couple, Randy and Laura (my parents' names! lol). We went shopping at the Citadel outlets and had a wonderful dinner at Olive Garden in Burbank.

Shara made us a mini replica of our wedding cake so we could have a piece of our "wedding cake" for our one year! It was exactly like our wedding cake! haha

I can't wait to see what the next 50 year has in store for us!

A surprise for my hubby

I can't believe this weekend is already over! It seems like it just started!

Well, I came home Friday to a sick husband. I was so sad because I had planned out this whole date night. So, I made him his favorite "sick food": tomato soup and grilled cheese which he didn't eat it of course. He still wasn't feeling very good, but I forced him to go to anyway. I paid good money and I was not about to let it go to waste!

So, I made him get his butt in the car and we drove to.....the Condor's Game!!!!! It was the playoff game and I was super excited!
We were in section 114 row D! I love being close to the ice!

Jonathan did really good. He was REALLY sick, but he stuck it out for me. Have a mentioned how much I love him? I LOVE him!

Bad picture of us, but you can tell that he was sick. Poor hubby.

Quick change was there (contestants from Americas Got Talent)! I was so excited to see them in person! They were one of my favorite contestants on the show!

It was really an amazing game! The Condor's scored 7 goals! Woo-hoo!

The Condor's celebrating after a victory!

Despite him being sick, it was a pretty good night. It was so nice to have a date night! We even saw some people from church!

So there is 1 for number 32!

A decade of love

My husband and I recently celebrated our 10 year anniversary on March 8th. It was the anniversary of when we first started dating on March 8, 1999.

I still can't believe it has been a whole ten years since we started dating! We have gone through so much in the last ten years and have grown together as well. I was only 14 when (he was 16) when we started dating. We have grown up together and become adults. I love how we like the same things like Disneyland and theater. I love how we just fit together so perfectly like pieces of a puzzle.

When we first got together we agreed to take it slow. We didn't even kiss until after 3 months of being together. So far this plan has completely worked for us! We waited until after I graduated from college to get married (to make sure that I would finish) and it was probably the best decision we ever made. If we would have gotten married when I was 18 (like we talked about) then we wouldn't of had everything that we have today and I might not have finished college.

It hasn't been the smoothest road; we have definitely had our bumps. However, we have gotten through it all and those bumps have made our relationship stronger. I love him more and more each day. I can't wait to take the next steps in our relationship: buying a house, starting a family, and eventually growing old together.

We originally had a plan to go on this big, amazing vacation to Disney World, however, with the economy the way it is we decided a weekend trip to Disneyland would be the best. It is how we celebrate every year after all!

We left Friday afternoon (we hit traffic...oye) and checked into our hotel. All I have to say is that you get what you pay for. The room was okay, but not amazing in any way. I managed to only pay $150 for two nights which is the same price as one night in a hotel 6 hotels down (a very short walk away). We met up with Jill and her family inside the park and rode a few rides with them. That was fun to be able to spend a little bit of time with them in the park. We actually stayed until closing (midnight) which is a very first for us. Usually we leave early to be able to get an early start in the morning.

Saturday morning we actually slept in (gasp!) and decided to go to California Adventure first. They opened the gate at 10:30, but didn't actually open up the rides until 11:00. We decided to go ahead and get in line for the new(ish) Toy Story Mania Ride. They had already set up a line for it and so we decided to go ahead and get in it. The end of it was pretty far away from the ride itself so we figured it was a HUGE line. We were wrong, we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes when they finally opened the actual line.

Photobucket
Aren't the glasses sexy?

Photobucket
He won...but my accuracy was much better!

We then went on California Screamin' since it was only a 10 minute wait and we KNEW it would be much longer later.

Photobucket
We are holding up "10" for 10 years

While waiting for our friends to arrive, we decided to finally have breakfast. We decided to go into the Baker's field bakery and found HUGE cinnamon rolls for about $3 each. Plus we got a small discount with our annual passes. We thought that was an extremely cheap breakfast, especially for Disneyland! Plus they were from the bakery named after where we live. How perfect is that?

Photobucket
Jonathan enjoying his breakfast. He had already eaten half of it by then.

Photobucket
Come on. It's kinda cool!

We finally met up with our friends: Joey, Brynna, and little Cyndel and Brynna's parents. Afterward we spent the whole day with them. After all, how often do you meet up with friends in Disneyland (who you didn't actually plan the trip with in the first place. This trip we happened to do that twice! =D ) We had a great meeting Disney characters, riding kiddie type rides, and eating yummy food.

On Sunday, our actual anniversary, we took it easy and just did what we wanted. We had lunch at the Blue Bayou (the restaurant inside of Pirates of the Caribbean) which I made a week in advance. We both had the Monte Cristo which is the best sandwich in the entire world! They also gave us a free dessert! It was a little pricey but so worth it!
Photobucket
Good morning!

Photobucket
Look how cute he is with the little Anniversary button!

We went on the Toy Story Ride again! It's definitely our new favorite ride!

Photobucket
I know I'm going to win!

Photobucket
He won....again...

The Mission Tortilla Factory gives away free tortillas (after making you watch a 5 minute video) and they are freshly made! It's by far one of Jonathan's favorite things to do.
Photobucket

We also got "free" pickles. They have a salad bar and give containers to hold pickles. So I got some for a quick snack. With what they charge to get in and for the food, I'm sure they can afford me taking a small amount of pickles lol.
Photobucket

By then it was 4:30pm, crowded, and we were finished. So we decided to head home.
Photobucket

We needed gas so we stopped at a Chevoron station before getting on the freeway. There was a lady there clearly in need of help with changing her tire. Jonathan, being the amazing guy that he is, got out and helped her. She said that she had been there for about an hour and NOBODY had offered to give her a hand. I can't believe that some people can't even offer help. We figure that if we were in that position that we would want somebody to help us.
Photobucket

After we finally got on the freeway we ran into a bunch of traffic, so we decided to go to the Citadel Outlets and do a little shopping. I bought my very first pair of Converse shoes! They are SUPER cute and I just couldn't pass them up.

We ate dinner at one of our new favorite restaurtants, Ruby's Diner. It was beyond yummy.

Overall it was an amazing anniversary. I still can't believe that I have been with him for a whole decade! I can't wait to spend the next 10 years with him and see what those years will bring!
